EVENT INFORMATION

Dear Friends

We will be running events for all age categories in the Pro –Am Divisions as well as Amateur and Professional Events in International and American Styles as well as solo presentations and Theatre Arts/Showdance.We will also be running the first ever Professional American Smooth QUICKSTEP 1 dance event. Check our rules and policies section for further information.

The Barcelo Palacio’ Hotel is centrally located in San Jose. Its large ballroom will accommodate a championship sized dance floor size and comfortable seating.  There will be a practice room located nearby to the ballroom area for your use and will be available 24hrs a day. We regret that it will not be available for teaching, only practice… Changing rooms will be available right outside the ballroom entrance. We do not anticipate a large vending turnout for this our inaugural year, so please remember to bring all the necessities for your competition.

Location. The Barcelo San Jose Palacio is located in a neighborhood less than two kilometers from the US Embassy in San Jose, Costa Rica. The city center stands three kilometers from the hotel, and a shopping mall is less than five kilometers away.

Hotel Features. The Anfora Restaurant and Café offers buffet-style international cuisine while the Ambar Restaurant specializes in Italian fare. The seasonal El Rancho Grill is open for lunch, and features a menu grilled items served poolside. Live musicians perform regularly at El Bosque Bar that serves snacks and cocktails. This property features a convention center that accommodates up to 1,500 guests, and wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel. A business center offers computers and fax, photocopy and print services. Recreational amenities include a fitness facility, tennis and squash courts, a spa with steam baths, a sauna and a spa tub, and two outdoor pools. A casino affords gaming activity on the hotel's premises.

Guestrooms. This property features 229 air-conditioned guestrooms and 25 suites. Standard rooms feature satellite television, minibars, coffeemakers and safe-deposit boxes. Junior Suites and the Presidential Suite contain personal computers, while Executive Floor Rooms benefit from separate reception services and include refrigerators and newspaper delivery. All accommodations offer wireless Internet access. Select rooms feature warm wood tones, flowing draperies, leather sofas and richly accented color schemes.

Expert Tip. This hotel offers transportation to nearby Barceló Tambor Beach, where the bay's calm waters attract swimmers and whale watchers. Excursions also depart the beach area for Tortuga Island
