Welcome to the 'Costa Rican Classic'© DanceSport competition& 'Dance for World Peace"™ Gala..
Hello and thank you for visiting our website.
Firstly let us explain who we are at DMNP Productions. Founders - David Martinez, Jose Marti Figueres Bogs, Nicholas Kosovich and Patrick Johnson.
It was David's idea to bring us all together, to share both his and Marti's love for their country, Davids love of Ballroom Dancing, to create and produce the "Costa Rican Classic" and "Dance For World Peace" Gala. Our passion for dance has brought us together to share with you the beauty of a country that has prospered peacefully with the abolishing of the military by Marti's father in 1948. A National hero of Costa Rica, Jose Figueres Ferrer also known as 'Don Pepe', was not only active in forming the new Constitution, but also mobilized the Revolution of 1948. He started the National Liberation Party (PLN) and was president of Costa Rica between the years 1948 and 1949, 1953 and 1958 and 1970 and 1974. Marti's Brother was also the president 1994-1998. Don Pepe first came to the notice of the public in 1942 with the enactment of the Alien Property Act by Rafael Calderon. It was during that time Don Pepe bought space on a radio station and condemned Calderon, claiming that the Alien Act as illegal. He further demanded resignation of Calderon on the air. After winning the revolution of 1948, Don Pepe became a member of the Founding Junta of the Second Republic. He was also involved in writing the Constitution of 1949 and remained active in politics until his death in the year 1990 at the age of 84. Marti's family legacy in Central America extends much further and is the inspiration for "Dance for World Peace". Promoting a eco-friendly country co-existing in harmony, surrounded by problems, economical, political and enviromental. Costa Rica is an inspiration for developing countries around the world, In one of the most beautiful regions of our world. His dream for World Peace is shared by us all, along with the current President, Nobel Peace Prize winner Óscar Rafael de Jesús Arias SánchezHe who is also a recipient of the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism. (Whom we hope to attend the event)
